Art Consulting for Guest Suite Art
– ABOUT THE PROJECT
This was a small but significant project early in my art consulting career as I had the opportunity to work with the great Robert Ledingham and his smart team of interior designers. Bob was a soft-spoken visionary in the Vancouver design scene and his aesthetic was impeccable. Considering his approach, I learned how careful editing can make a masterful impression and how art infuses a room with a distinct allure. For the guest suite art, we sourced old photography books featuring moody black and white scenes of classical ruins which were then done up in chic silver frames. An economical solution on a tight budget but they added sophisticated polish and classic beauty to each room.
For the Pan Pacific Hotel art consulting project, it was an honour to work with Robert Ledingham and his design team. Now deceased, Bob Ledingham was the longtime lion of the Vancouver design scene, the quiet king who knew how to make a room purr. And give it just the right amount of magic. While he became a well-deserved icon in the Canadian design community, he maintained an open, humble spirit. A thoughtful, considerate man with a sly sense of humour and a true commitment to showing the humanity at the heart of good design.
