Event Curation for series of multimedia art events
– ABOUT THE PROJECT
In co-operation with Snap Gallery, the Vancouver Film School and local young independent visual artists, fashion designers, film makers and musicians, BCreative was responsible for curating a popular series of multi-media art events. Factory Nights was a suggestive throwback to the innovative creative scene that developed around Andy Warhols’s studio, dubbed The Factory. It was a case of anything goes and we wanted to echo that ribald spirit of creative daring. So, in one instance, we filled the gallery floors with 50,000 wax-coated playing cards for an installation piece that suggested the slippery spirit of this gambling age where all the cards are against you. Each Factory Night came and went like a blur -but the event received a feature story in the Globe ad Mail as it elevated an interesting mix of a younger creatives all brought together for one wild night of art.
