– ABOUT THE PROJECT
One of Vancouver’s premiere fine-dining establishments, Gotham Steakhouse features high-style interiors that suggest an art deco era New York supper club with plush velvet banquettes and luxurious details. Barry Dumka was brought on to provide art consulting services to give the various dining rooms added flair. The original custom work commissioned needed to match the sophisticated style of the restaurant’s luxe brand. Every piece in the project was a knock out and add to the unique character of this award-winning restaurant.
To achieve a high style luxe look and make a memorable impression, Gotham features a collection of large colourful canvases custom painted for the restaurant entry, dining rooms and lower private rooms. Referencing the jazz-age style of such artists as Max Beckmann and Tamara De Lempicka, the artwork adds sleek style and a dramatic flair to the interior spaces.
